For each episode of the RHYTHMS & ROOTS series, that KEV is currently in the U.S. filming, an original song will be recorded

Over 12 episodes, every genre of music that the show covers, will feature this song, which will be written by KEV

We know he’s a song writer, but a straight song writer? You might be surprised to know that KEV has written many (clean) tracks over the years for other artists. Most have gone gold or platinum. Pretty impressive, no?

So when it came time to record the RHYTHMS & ROOTS song for the Nashville Episode, KEV’S first choice of artist was country music legend, CHARLEY PRIDE

KEV first met Charley when he (KEV) was in his twenties, and a radio disc jockey in Kalgoorlie. He interviewed Charley then, and continued to be a huge fan of Charley’s work. KEV would tell you in a heartbeat that Charley is one of his all-time heroes in the business. So to write a song, and then see Charley record, has that smile firmly planted on KEV’S face!

We can’t wait to hear the song!

Fun fact:
KEV once saw Charley perform live, then stay after the show for hours, signing autographs and meeting fans. At the time, this blew KEV away, and impressed him so much, that it’s now something that KEV insists on doing after all his concerts.

The Peabody ducks, Graceland, biker bars, rib joints – they’re not missing a thing

Tonight they head into SUN STUDIOS to record the Memphis Episode song for RHYTHMS and ROOTS

For those of you asking, the LITTLE BLOKE isn’t performing any shows while he’s in the States, but he is in talks to come back and do a concert tour possibly next year

We’ve also given KEV the password to the R&R Facebook page so he can post his own updates from the road
