The Manager’s thoughts

Filed under: Kev Talks Crap — Administrator @ 12:04 pm

It’s been a while since the last -log in the blog- thought since we are between receptionists here at Both Barrels, I’d take the opportunity of giving you my view of the world, and an insight into what’s been happening around here-x80xA6.

It’s been a hectic couple of months here due to the relocation of our offices and recording studios. We have finally moved in to our state of the art Both Barrels head office, still in Sorrento in Western Australia. Since we have started moving into the production of documentaries and TV shows, our broadcast and recording studios are an exciting addition to our ever-growing business.

We are currently filming for the new DVD that will be available through Universal in The UK and Ireland this Christmas. This will encompass vision from Kev in places like New Zealand, Gympie, Kalgoorlie, Darwin and a number of other stops in his extensive touring schedule. We don’t have a title for it as yet, but it will premiere in the UK and Ireland, and be available in Australia and other parts of the world early in the New Year.

Another product which will be out soon will be the HERITAGE SERIES triple pack DVD Box Set, released through Sony Music in Australia and New Zealand, with the re release of -LET LOOSE LIVE IN LONDON, LIVE AND UNCENSORED, AND KALGOORLIE LIVE SONGS’ - all remastered on DVD. This heritage series will be available in July, and will be available at all good CD and DVD stores, or through our website (of course).

We are still compiling a new CD - with a working title of DISGACELAND, which will also incidentally be the name of the new tour, and should also be completed for distribution and be on sale for Christmas.

Kev started his Queensland tour last Wednesday (19TH OF April) in Brisbane, and is enjoying full houses again at all the venues. We have unfortunately had to cancel the show in Innisfail due to the damage to the venue from the recent cyclone that decimated the town. Lets hope they all get back on their feet soon and the town recovers as quickly as possible.

There are still some tickets available at most of the other shows in Queensland, and you will also have a chance to catch him in Darwin, Alice Springs, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Tom Price and Newman.

We have also released dates for some other shows in Western Australia this Christmas. He will be at the Mandurah performing Arts on Thursday the 14th of December, Burswood Theatre on Saturday the 16th of December and the Bunbury Entertainment Centre on Sunday the 17th of December - these shows should ensure you enjoy a bloody good Christmas this year !

We are soon to expand the website with a members page that will contain previews from shows, downloadable clips from TV show pilots we are filming, backstage antics of Kev and the crew on the road, never before seen footage from different parts of the world, and a number of other amazing bits of technology that won’t be available unless you sign up as a member. (You’ll be able to get 1 month’s free membership with the purchase of the new triple set of DVD’s.)

I see someone has also recently created a Kev fan page - check out http://kevrocks.wordpress.com/

Ho hum - there was Emma who went on to greener pastures, and then Skye was with us for a good year, but since then Kristy has been manning the switchboard and doing a fantastic job until our new girl Gemma starts with us in early May-x80xA6..it’s confusing to say the least !
The next log will be from Hollywood (Kev’s tour manager) with an update from out there in touring land with an update on what’s been happening in Queensland.

I’d love to receive any photos you guys may have from being out there at the shows, and reviews or comments on what you liked about being a part of -The Kev experience’.

Adios for now - Mike

  1. Even thousands of miles away in Germany,we love to crank Kev up loud and offend the neighbours and meet new friends. Kev fans recognize each other from 50 paces… yeah, it’s that bloody obvious. Keep squeezing that stuff out, Kev! Cop ya later!

  2. I just wanted to say that I went to see KBW at Kedron Wavell Services Club in Brisbane on 20th April…and he made me sick!!! From Laughing so much…This Kev’s a bloody scream let me tell you..At the end of the First Half of the Show, I laughed so much I had Hiccups…The guy’s got so much energy, I don’t understand how he doesn’t Kark It before the end of the Show!!! He gives his all and nobody could ever feel “short-changed” by this pocket of dynamite. Brilliant…Testosterone Unplugged…Orgasmogorical…What a Touring Team he’s got…If they were the Aussie Cricket Team, The Poms would have given them The Ashes, as long as Kev and his Crew promised to fuck off back to Orstraya and let them get their breath back from all the laughing!!! Thank God KBW won’t be back for a few months, which will give me time for my cracked ribs to heal.. D I L L I G A F….

  3. I ran into Kevin’s stuff on Napster, first, and have been talking him up and listening ever since. Me Mum was an Aussie war bride, and though she came from a gentler breed, I still wish she were around so I could play “She’s the Sorta Sheila” and “The Kid He Swears A Little Bit” to her. I think she’d like ‘em, except for the word “fuck” that she hated to hear us say. (We did anyway. We being my older sibs, brother and sister, and me.)Anyway, I try to make new fans for Kevin. It’s easy. Let ‘em listen and they’re hooked.
Keep on rockin’, Kev, mate. And if you ever come to the states, especially to the Northwest, I’d be delighted.
Kevin’s way cooler than ol’ Rolf Harris or Slim Dusty, that I teethed on as a kid. (Not literally, though the vinyl would’a worked…)
Anyone who can’t handle Kevin is a drongo.
